DESTINY Continue Work On 'Beyond All Sense 2005'

December 5, 2004

Long-running Swedish metallers DESTINY are currently working on a re-recording of the band's debut album, "Beyond All Sense", originally released almost twenty years ago. "Beyond All Sense 2005" is scheduled for release on March 14, 2005, twenty years after the original album release (March 13, 1985). A studio update from bassist Stefan Björnshög follows:

"Last week Kristoffer [Göbel] completed the vocals for yet four more tracks: 'Spellbreaker', 'Sacrilege', 'More Evil Than Evil' and the bonus song that used to be called 'He Is Free'. Kristoffer has now written brand new lyrics and the song is renamed 'No Way Out'. As Kristoffer never got to hear the original song the vocals and lyrics are totally different from the original version.

"Once again I was stunned when I heard the final vocals of all four songs, that's nine in total so far. Apart from 'No Way Out', which, for obvious reasons, doesn't sound like the original, 'Sacrilege' is the song that has changed the most, at least regarding the vocals. A lot of people that have heard the original will be quite surprised, pleasantly so, I bet. As usual, Kristoffer's lyrics are impeccable.

"Now there is only one more song for Kristoffer to record, the bonus track currently called 'Please Don't Go'. As of this moment Kristoffer is writing new lyrics and as soon as they are done he will record the song.

"So far I am the only one in the band that have heard the final versions but I'm sure that the other guys will agree that Kristoffer once again have delivered more than we could hope for, and our expectations where high. Maybe I should add that Kristoffer has had total freedom to change the vocals to suit his style and taste.

"Good job, Kristoffer.

"Unfortunately, there is not a lot of time left if we are to keep the deadline to manage the March release date. This means that Christian Silver will start to mix the songs on Monday the 6th of December in StudiOmega. As there are a couple of small parts that is not yet recorded we will work in two studios at the same time. In DRS Janne and Fredrik Olsson will complete all guitar solos as well as twelve string acoustic guitars for two songs. There will probably be keyboards recorded on at least one song as well. Hopefully everything will be completed well before X-mass."
